Tourmaline (unusual color)This is certainly a rarity for Tourmaline. It came from a piece of rough that we acquired from a good friend who bought it at the source. It was the only piece with this odd golden peach hue mixed among the more traditional pinks and less common orange colored material. When we got the parcel, my brother, Brett, pulled this one aside as he said he was going to be the one to facet it. The final result is this gorgeous Modified Round Brilliant cut gem

you can see what appear to be very thin "string"-like growth lines inside the Halites

This is significant because these gems will make great centerpieces for jewelry

Indicolites are well-known in the gem world

Knowledgeable collectors will tell you that a good faceted Brookite is exceedingly rare to find on the market for two reasons

as most of the Opal from this area is not nearly as attractive or fine quality as the pieces in this lot
